He was born in 1977 in Gediz, Kütahya.
In 1993, Dr. Ömer Avlanmış started Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine and continued his studies at Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital for general surgery training in 2001.
During his general surgery training, he had a special interest in colorectal surgery, reflux surgery, bariatric surgery, advanced laparoscopy, laparoscopic hernia surgery and continued his studies in this direction.
After completing his compulsory service in Diyarbakır Silvan State Hospital in 2008-2009, he continued his work at Private Çamlıca Erdem Hospital between 2009-2019. In 2012, he made great contributions to the establishment and development of the Bariatric Surgery Department in this institution and performed bariatric surgery procedures for thousands of patients both at home and abroad.
In 2019, he continued his working life in his private clinic in Nişantaşı, Istanbul and at the same time in the establishment and development of the Bariatric Surgery Department at Hisar Intercontinental Hospital and performed bariatric surgery procedures of nearly 1500 patients in this institution.
As of April 2022, he continues his work in his private clinic in Nişantaşı, Istanbul and as the head of the Bariatric Surgery Department at Liv Hospital Ulus.
Dr. Ömer Avlanmış has successfully performed thousands of operations in the field of bariatric surgery in Turkey, has prepared articles published in numerous national and international journals and has made speeches at dozens of national and international congresses. Dr. Ömer Avlanmış is married and has two children, one girl and one boy.
